In 2015, the team developed a masterplan for Winston Park Primary School. This process involved reconciling newly acquired sites with the original school grounds and rearranging key school functions to incorporate growth and new specialized areas. All stakeholders in the school community from parents and staff to the youngest learners participated in the process to highlight short, medium and long term goals, as well as establish user needs. The design focused on connections, and open space elements as key integrators in the holistic design as well as potential future expansion. A new Grade R facility was located in the masterplan which is now a project in itself and the upgrade of an original house as an aftercare centre. These projects are awaiting the rezoning of a residential site and funding. The first phase of a major space element is underway – the amphitheatre and Grade 7 area.
